Which is the Worse Sin?

Posted: March 25, 2014 in Personal Evangelism

The Bible is clear that there is not particular sin that worse than another. Sin is sin. God gives us several examples of sin. In just a moment you will read another example of which actions are sin and the penalty, “not inherit the kingdom of God.” The good news is that anyone who commits any sins can have God’s forgiveness and inherit the kingdom of God. Let me quote what the Bible says about sin.

“Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders  10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.  11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

It is simply before your eyes. What is sin? Sexually immorality, heterosexual, idolaters, male prostitutes, homosexual offenders, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, slanders, swindlers. These are all different actions but with the same consequence, “not inherit the kingdom of God.”

There is good news. The key in these passages is found in verse eleven, “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” The writer of the Corinthian Letter, the apostle Paul used the past tense for a sinner’s condition. He wrote “some of you were.” Then he refers to God’s forgiveness based upon the blood Jesus shed on the cross to pay for the sins of mankind.

The Bible says, that a sinner is justified before God. That means we stand rightly, in right standing before God. We are being sanctified, made saved, or right with God. That is good news for anyone who knows and acknowledges he or she is a sinner. Thank God for his love and kindness. God wants to forgive our sin, but we must acknowledge our sin to God and receive Jesus payment, his death on the cross and his resurrection from the death as payment for our sin. God’s love and forgiveness is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, confess Him as Lord and Savior.

Anyone who is tired of their sin, regardless of the sin of choice can experience God’s forgiveness today, at this moment. If you are ready to experience God’s peace, love, and presence in your life, then say this prayer to God and mean it with all your heart.

Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son that He died for my sin on the cross, was buried and rose again on the third day. God I have sinned against You, I have broken Your laws, (name your sin(s) to God). Please forgive my sin. I give my heart and life to You. Jesus come into my heart and life. I want to live for You. Thank you for giving me Your forgiveness heavenly Father. In Jesus Name I pray.

If you just prayed/said that prayer and meant it, God has forgiven your sin. You are a new creation in Christ, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. You need to get involved with a Bible teaching church and study group. Follow Jesus in what is referred to as Believer’s baptism. Know that you have a new start in life. You have been born again. Your name is written in God’s book of eternal life.
