Some have argued against the pubic invitation by saying, “I am not the Holy Spirit.” I agree there is only one Holy Spirit, but the Holy Spirit uses the believer to give the invitation. When a person is born again, the individual receives the Spirit as God’s guarantee of salvation and His power. Author Roger Carswell refers to the Holy Spirit as the Evangelist.[1] Every Christian can evangelize in the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the one who gives the invitation, as Dr. Tom Johnston professor of evangelism said, “Using our vocal cords to communicate the gospel and persuade men and women to trust in Jesus.[2]
